Loras hosted an event this past week called "To Do Justice." It focused on the Dachau war trials after World War II and the men who prosecuted and defended the Nazis in those trials. This event had a special meaning to me because I was just at Dachau a little over two months ago.
Joshua Greene discussing his film about the Holocaust. Greene is known as a Holocaust expert worldwide. He was touted as the most creative and affluent person to ever be on Loras' campus.
Douglas Bates III talking about his father and his defense of the Nazis at the Dachau war trials.
Two Loras faculty talking to Douglas Bates III after his speech about what his father went through defending the Nazis at Dachau prison camp in Germany.
Douglas Bates III talking with John Healy, who would reenact Bate's father in the closing arguments of the Dachau trials.
John Healy reenacting the part of William Denson, the American prosecuting attorney of the third infantry at the Dachau war trials.
Chase Gruska giving the closing arguments as the defense for the accused Nazis at Dachau. He was reenacting the American soldier Douglas Bates II.
